The great thing about Doctor Nasir, according to patients and colleagues alike, is that even though he is the Medical Director at Global Stem Cells, he makes each and every patient a priority. He’s widely considered a leader in regenerative medicine treatment protocols and has published a number of papers on the subject.
But it’s his openness with patients and the personal care he gives them that invokes the feeling that they’re in good hands.
With Isaac Darrel, things were no different.
From the moment Isaac arrived in Bangkok, Dr. Nasir made himself available and talked the nervous young Canadian through the entire process of his surgery and rehabilitation. Once his surgery was complete and he started physical therapy, he constantly monitored and updated his patient to ensure he was kept in the loop throughout his experience at the clinic.
When we spoke to Nasir during the first days of Isaac’s stay in Bangkok, he told us all about his plans after the Epidural Stimulation device was implanted. After going over the details of his patient’s injury and how the device will help, he remembered fondly the emotions in the room as he saw Isaac move his legs for the first time.
Three days after the surgery, we turned on the device which was very awesome for his family and for himself. It was the first time he was moving his legs in four years, so it was very emotional … his mom seeing her son move his legs for the first time after the injury.”
He went on to say that, through the multiple therapies included in the overall Epidural Stimulation treatment plan, he expected Isaac to be able to regulate his body temperature better, reduce the pain from the nerve damage and eventually start taking some assisted steps.
