  • How Water Volume Affects Stem Cells
    Jan

    2018

At present, Stem Cell Treatment and Therapy has evolved speedily, taking a leap over traditional medical care systems. Hospitals and clinics now are well equipped with Stem Cell Treatment options and expertise. This type of treatment is becoming prevalent as it can treat chronic diseases without the need for invasive organ transplants or surgeries at minimal risks. Doctors extract Stem Cells from patient’s bone marrow or adipose tissue and directly inject them to the affected area to enhance growing of new tissues.

    Recent Discovery

In Stem Cell Therapy, studying the cell’s nature and their matrix can be influencing. Researchers have recently discovered that Stem cell dynamics and properties vary according to the volume of water it holds. The presence or absence of water content in Stem Cell alters the cell volume thereby affecting cell properties. By removing water from Stem Cells, it would condense the cells to form pre-bone cells, whereas adding water will lead to swelling to form pre-fat cells. This validates that cellular water content plays a major role in the mechanical properties and physiological functions of cells. The cell volume constantly changes throughout their lifespan with the amount of protein, DNA and other content. This volume can determine the cell stiffness and biological properties like gene expression.

In the lab test experiment, the volume of cells were increased and/or decreased by 20% under specific conditions to detect any internal changes. The investigators placed normal volume Stem Cells in a hardened hydrogel substrate to simulate the rigidness of bone cells and a week later they observed a large portion of the Stem Cells had developed into pre-bone cells. Also, when water was removed from the cells to decrease their volume by 20 percent, the number of pre-boned cells from Stem Cells increased even in soft substrate. On the other hand, the investigator placed Stem Cells on glass to simulate a stiffer environment and increased the volume by 20% and found that few of the cells formed into pre-fat cells.

    Stem Cell Therapy

Stem Cells possess the ability of regenerating and developing into any cell, organ or tissue of specific function. It is also one of the most practical and effective way to repair cell damage and treat fatal injuries or cell degeneration in different body parts. It does so by reversing the symptoms and acts as anti-inflammatory, boosting the formation of new healthy cells. Discovering their properties and volume factor will enhance physicians to develop new therapies and pharmaceutical drugs. Volume alterations in Stem Cells affect various factors such as matrix lining, gene expression and firmness.

Stem Cell Treatment with Unique Access Medical has shown potential in treating various degenerative conditions. Please contact us for more information about the treatments and supportive therapies. Our Patient Representatives will get in touch at the earliest.
