What is a Spinal Cord Injury?
Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) occurs when any part of spinal cord is damaged. This kind of injury normally takes place due to accidents, other mishaps etc.
There are two types of Spinal Cord Injury, Complete and Incomplete Spinal Cord Injury. Complete Spinal Cord Injury refers to when all movement and sensation below below the level of injury is lost. On the other hand, patients with Incomplete Spinal Cord Injury, still have some movement and sensation.
Patients with Spinal Cord Injury experience a variety of symptoms, which varies according to the type of injury patients are suffering from. Symptoms include loss of control over movement, sensation, bladder, and sexual function. There can also be severe pain or pressure of the neck, head, or back area and some patients also experience paralysis in parts of the body.
Even though Spinal Cord Injury was viewed as a permanently untreatable condition, Stem Cell Treatments has proven otherwise. It has marked the new beginning of an alternative solution for all Spinal Cord Injury patients.
